Discover the R'Acoustic 10
Eco-friendly textile fibre
R'Acoustic 10 is an eco-designed acoustic insulation product. Its raw material is made from recycled clothing (wool, cotton, synthetic fibres), woven without glue. Its surface mass of 1.1 kg/m² helps to reduce airborne noise transmitted through walls. To find out more about this product, see the Ceilingo range of acoustic and sound insulation products.
Respect for your living space
Thick insulation takes up living space. R'Acoustic 10 is designed for situations where every centimetre counts. Suitable for renovating low ceilings, small rooms such as bathrooms, or thin partitions, it provides sound insulation without encroaching on floor space.

Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about R'Acoustic 10
Five key questions about the R'Acoustic 10 thin acoustic insulation, with technical and authoritative answers.
What is the difference between R'Acoustic 10 and R'Acoustic 20?
R'Acoustic 10 and R'Acoustic 20, the 20 mm version of the range, are two thin soundproofing materials made from recycled, glue-free woven fabric. R'Acoustic 10 is 10 mm thick with a mass per unit area of 1.1 kg/m², whilst R'Acoustic 20 is 20 mm thick and has a mass of 1.8 kg/m². The R'Acoustic 20 also has a standardised LNEC rating (Rw 50 dB on a 290 mm wall), which is not available for the R'Acoustic 10, which only has an indicative manufacturer’s figure of -22 dB. The R'Acoustic 10 is designed for renovations where space is limited (low ceilings, small rooms, thin partitions), whilst the 20 is aimed at projects with high acoustic demands, such as studios and home cinemas.
Why does the R'Acoustic 10 not have a standard Rw rating like the R'Acoustic 20?
The R'Acoustic 10 has an indicative airborne sound reduction value of -22 dB, measured in-house by the manufacturer on the product alone. This figure is not a standardised measurement in accordance with EN ISO 717-1 and has not yet been tested in an independent laboratory, unlike the R'Acoustic 20, which has an LNEC report. The actual acoustic performance of an insulation system always depends on the wall configuration: total thickness, mass, air gap, type of supports. This makes measurements taken on the product alone difficult to apply to a construction site.
On which substrates can R'Acoustic 10 be installed?
R'Acoustic 10 can be installed indoors on four types of substrate: walls (as acoustic lining for partitions or party walls), ceilings (under concrete slabs or wooden floors, fixed using a nail gun or staples), floors (as an underlay before screed or floating parquet) and roofs (as a roof underlay to treat airborne noise and improve acoustic comfort in loft spaces). Its surface mass of 1.1 kg/m² and density of 110 kg/m³ make it versatile for use in renovation projects, as a lightweight lining on existing partitions.
Is R'Acoustic 10 suitable for small rooms and low ceilings?
Yes, that is precisely what it is designed for. At just 10 mm thick, R'Acoustic 10 preserves floor space and ceiling height, unlike traditional sound insulation materials which significantly reduce living space. It is particularly suitable for bathrooms, walk-in wardrobes, thin partitions and renovations of low ceilings where every centimetre counts. For projects where acoustic performance takes precedence over thickness constraints, the 20 mm R'Acoustic 20 offers superior sound reduction, as documented by LNEC.
What is the composition of R'Acoustic 10?
R'Acoustic 10 is made from recycled textile fibres: wool, cotton and synthetic fibres sourced from the recycling of clothing, woven without glue using the multi-layer process developed by Ceilingo. Its density of 110 kg/m³ and surface mass of 1.1 kg/m² give it good mechanical strength whilst maintaining a thickness of 10 mm. This eco-design reduces the environmental impact compared to traditional synthetic insulation materials.
