R'BULL Pro 20 Multilayer is designed to complement your traditional insulation (glass wool, rock wool, wood fibre) and meet the requirements of RE 2020 and major renovations (BAR-TH-175 guidelines and renovation grants).
- Unused loft space: add 5.68 m²K/W to meet the 7 m²K/W requirement.
- Roof slopes: add 4.68 m²K/W to aim for 6 m²K/W.
- Interior walls: only 2.38 m²K/W to add to reach 3.7 m²K/W.
- Ground floors: add 1.68 m²K/W to meet the required 3 m²K/W.

What is the R'BULL Pro 20 Multilayer used for?
R'BULL Pro 20 Multilayer is a 20 mm thin reflective insulation designed to complement traditional insulation. It is installed under the roof, on interior walls or ceilings, on top of mineral wool, wood wool or another primary insulation material. Its function is to reduce heat transfer by radiation and to slow down the diffusion of water vapour (Sd > 400 m).
What is its actual thermal resistance?
According to standard EN ISO 22097:2023, the R'BULL Pro 20 Multilayer has an R-value of 1.32 m²K/W when installed with two 30 mm unventilated air gaps on each side. The thermal resistance of the insulation alone, excluding the associated air gaps, is R = 0.70 m²K/W. Its thermal conductivity is λ = 0.035 W/(m·K).
How is it installed with traditional insulation?
R'BULL Pro 20 Multilayer is installed as a supplement to a primary insulation material (glass wool, rock wool, wood fibre), ensuring two unventilated air gaps of at least 30 mm on each side of the assembly. It is this configuration that enables an R-value of 1.32 m²K/W to be achieved. Installation follows the requirements of European Technical Assessment ETA 22/0178.
Is it eligible for renovation grants?
Eligibility for grant schemes (BAR-EN-109 Energy Saving Certificates, MaPrimeRénov’, BAR-TH-175 major renovation) depends on the nature of the works, the overall insulation system and the thermal resistance threshold required by each scheme. Is it compatible with an RE 2020 or BBC renovation?
Yes. The R'BULL Pro 20 Multilayer is used in conjunction with primary insulation to meet the requirements of RE 2020 and major renovations. Examples of additional insulation required: 5.68 m²K/W in loft spaces to achieve R = 7; 4.68 m²K/W in roof slopes to achieve R = 6; 2.38 m²K/W in internal walls to achieve R = 3.7; 1.68 m²K/W in ground-floor floors to achieve R = 3.
How does this differ from R'BULL Pro 13?
The R'BULL Pro 13 is a 13 mm thin reflective insulation with 5 layers (reference BOLTHERM 235), with R = 1.60 m²K/W. The R'BULL Pro 20 Multilayer is a thicker, 11-layer product (reference BOLTHERM 820), designed for additional insulation with two air gaps, R = 1.32 m²K/W.
