Discover the R'Acoustic 10
Eco-friendly textile fibre
The R'Acoustic 10 is an eco-designed acoustic insulation. Its raw material is reconditioned from recycled clothing (wool, cotton, synthetic fibres), woven without glue. Its areal weight of 1.1 kg/m² helps reduce airborne noise transmitted through walls. To see where this product fits, browse the Ceilingo range of acoustic and sound insulation.
Respecting your living space
A thick insulation product takes up living space. The R'Acoustic 10 is designed for situations where every centimetre counts. Suited to low-ceiling renovations, small rooms such as a bathroom, or thin partitions, it provides sound insulation without encroaching on floor area.

Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about the R'Acoustic 10
Five key questions about the R'Acoustic 10 thin acoustic insulation, with technical, evidence-based answers.
What is the difference between the R'Acoustic 10 and the R'Acoustic 20?
The R'Acoustic 10 and the R'Acoustic 20, the 20 mm version of the range, are two thin acoustic insulation products made of recycled textile woven without glue. The R'Acoustic 10 is 10 mm thick with an areal weight of 1.1 kg/m², the R'Acoustic 20 is 20 mm and 1.8 kg/m². The R'Acoustic 20 also has a normative LNEC measurement (Rw 50 dB on a 290 mm wall), which does not exist for the R'Acoustic 10, which only has an indicative manufacturer figure of -22 dB. The R'Acoustic 10 targets renovations where the available thickness is limited (low ceilings, small rooms, thin partitions), while the 20 is aimed at projects with high acoustic demands such as studios and home cinemas.
Why doesn't the R'Acoustic 10 have a normative Rw like the R'Acoustic 20?
The R'Acoustic 10 has an indicative airborne sound reduction value of -22 dB, measured internally by the manufacturer on the product alone. This figure is not a normative measurement under EN ISO 717-1 and has not, to date, been the subject of an independent laboratory test, unlike the R'Acoustic 20, which has an LNEC report. The actual acoustic performance of an insulation system always depends on the wall configuration: total thickness, mass, air gap, and type of surfaces. This makes measurements on the product alone difficult to translate directly to a real project.
What surfaces can the R'Acoustic 10 be installed on?
The R'Acoustic 10 is installed indoors on four types of surfaces: walls (as acoustic lining on partitions or party walls), ceilings (under a concrete slab or timber floor, fixed with a nail gun or staples), floors (as an underlay before a screed or floating floor) and roofs (as a sub-roof layer to treat airborne noise and improve the acoustic comfort of loft spaces). Its areal weight of 1.1 kg/m² and density of 110 kg/m³ allow versatile use in renovation, as a light lining on existing partitions.
Is the R'Acoustic 10 suitable for small rooms and low ceilings?
Yes, that is precisely its purpose. With its 10 mm thickness, the R'Acoustic 10 preserves floor area and ceiling height, unlike traditional acoustic insulation which significantly reduces living space. It is particularly suited to bathrooms, dressing rooms, thin partitions and low-ceiling renovations where every centimetre counts. For projects where acoustic performance takes priority over thickness constraints, the 20 mm R'Acoustic 20 will offer superior attenuation, documented by LNEC.
What is the R'Acoustic 10 made of?
The R'Acoustic 10 is made of recycled textile fibres: wool, cotton and synthetic fibres from reconditioned clothing, woven without glue using the multilayer process developed by Ceilingo. Its density of 110 kg/m³ and areal weight of 1.1 kg/m² give it good mechanical strength while keeping a thickness of 10 mm. This eco-design reduces environmental impact compared with traditional synthetic insulation.
