Thermal Technology

R'BULL Pro 13: mastering
thermal radiation

R'BULL Pro 13 is a 13 mm multilayer thin reflective insulation product, with two pure aluminium faces. It is classified B-s1,d0 under the EN 13501-1 standard and covered by the European Technical Assessment ETA 22/0178. Combined with two non-ventilated air gaps, it reaches a thermal resistance of R = 1.60 m².K/W according to the EN ISO 22097:2023 standard. It features genuine pure aluminium reflective sheets (rather than aluminised polymer films), within a structure designed to limit heat transfer and preserve performance over time. Discover R'BULL reflective technology.

01

6.5 microns of thermal precision

Reduced to 6.5 microns, our aluminium sheet limits its own heating and optimises the reflection of thermal radiation. The result: less heat absorbed, more energy reflected

02

A high-performance infrared mirror

Thanks to pure aluminium with very high reflectivity, R'BULL Pro 13 has an emissivity of 0.05 and a solar factor of less than 0.03. It acts as a thermal mirror, able to reflect infrared radiation outwards or inwards, depending on the installation configuration.

03

A structure designed to limit heat transfer

Our air bubbles keep the reflective sheets away from the blue polyethylene foam core. This design reduces direct contact, enhances the reflective function of the aluminium and helps limit heat transfer, better preserving efficiency over time.

The Roof Covering

Tiles and battens form the first line of protection against solar heat gain. Thanks to the natural ventilation of the roof covering, some of the heat is dissipated before it even reaches the living space.

02

The R'BULL Pro 13 Shield

13 mm of technology dedicated to performance. Its two pure aluminium faces repel 95% of solar radiation before it turns into heat. Airtight and moisture-resistant, R'BULL Pro 13 helps protect your loft space over the long term.

03

The Active Air Gap

Created by the installation of R'BULL Pro 13, this sealed air gap completes the effectiveness of the system. It slows residual heat transfer and helps maintain better thermal balance, in both summer and winter.

04

The Finish

The plasterboard on furring channels provides a clean, neat finish. To further boost the overall performance, it is recommended to add fibrous insulation to improve overall thermal comfort.

Ceilingo's expertise in a few questions

Everything you need to know about R'BULL Pro 13 technology.

Is 13 mm really thick enough to insulate properly?
Absolutely. The strength of R'BULL Pro 13 lies not in its bulk thickness, but in its multilayer reflective technology. Combined with two non-ventilated air gaps, it reaches a thermal resistance of R = 1.60. It acts as a genuine shield, reflecting thermal energy rather than simply absorbing it like conventional wool insulation.
Why is R'BULL Pro 13 the summer comfort specialist?
Thanks to its outstanding emissivity (ε = 0.05) and its solar factor (S < 0.03). Put simply: the pure aluminium it is made of reflects 95% of the infrared radiation from the roof. It stops heat from entering your loft space, completely eliminating the "kettle effect" during heatwaves.
What does the B-s1,d0 fire rating (ERP) guarantee?
This rating confirms the excellent fire reaction of R'BULL Pro 13 under European standards. It is therefore fully permitted in establishments open to the public (ERP). Compliance simply requires the interior side to be covered with a standard thermal screen (such as ordinary plasterboard). This finishing layer is enough to provide the required regulatory protection (15 minutes for walls, 30 minutes for ceilings).
Is R'BULL Pro 13 ACERMI certified?
No, and it is worth understanding why. ACERMI certification, a voluntary French scheme, is mainly suited to bulk insulation materials (mineral wool, polystyrene, foam) whose performance relies on an intrinsic thermal resistance measured independently of installation. To date, no thin reflective insulation product comparable to R'BULL Pro 13 is listed in this scheme, as the framework is not suited to this type of technology. For thin reflective systems, the recognised European reference is the European Technical Assessment (ETA). To find out more, see ADEME's detailed position.
What is the regulatory framework for R'BULL Pro 13?
R'BULL Pro 13 holds the European Technical Assessment ETA 22/0178, issued under the Construction Products Regulation (EU) No 305/2011, which enables legally binding CE marking throughout the European Union. It comes with its Declaration of Performance (DoP) and test reports covering thermal performance (KTU), reaction to fire (AITEX, B-s1,d0 rating) and emissivity with solar factor (LNE). This framework gives your design office, architect or project manager all the evidence needed to include the product in a regulatory thermal study. All documents can be freely downloaded further up this page.
Do you need a professional for installation?
The roll is extremely lightweight (14.5 kg) and installs easily without a mask or gloves, as it is non-irritant. However, having it installed by a partner installer guarantees strict compliance with the air gaps (crucial for performance) and helps you access aid depending on your country.
